Maroun Abou Harb

Maroun is an associate in the corporate department, based in our DIFC office.

He has a proven track record of providing comprehensive legal counsel to clients across a diverse range of corporate and tax matters. Maroun’s recent accomplishments include the successful facilitation of a $1 million cross-border transaction, where he ensured a seamless and successful outcome for his client. He also showcased sharp legal acumen and strategic litigation skills in a recent matter in which he successfully secured an award of $1 million in damages.

In another recent matter, Maroun played a pivotal role in a $100 million transaction, collaborating with internal counsel to ensure the transaction’s legal compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Beyond his transactional expertise, Maroun possesses a deep understanding of compliance management, having developed a comprehensive compliance strategy and legal framework for individuals from high-risk countries operating companies in the UAE. He has also implemented robust regulatory compliance programs for international businesses, ensuring adherence to UAE laws and regulations, mitigating potential risks, and protecting companies’ interests.

Maroun’s tax expertise revolves around providing strategic counsel on corporate tax and VAT matters, including offering multiple structuring options for tax optimization purposes. In particular, he advises clients on tax-efficient structures designed to maximize their financial well-being.

Throughout his career, Maroun has consistently demonstrated expertise in litigation, corporate transactions, and complex tax matters.

Prior to joining BSA, Maroun gained law firm experience in both corporate M&A and litigation practices. His corporate experience included drafting contracts, memoranda, and corporate guarantees, while his litigation experience involved drafting motions in civil, criminal, and commercial matters.

Maroun was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 2023.
